Weiwei Zhu is a Media Arts student based in Plymouth and Hangzhou. She is a multimedia designer focusing on filmmaking, photography and graphic design. She likes to capture all the ordinary and interesting moments in the world. At the same time, she is also keen to study the similarities and differences between Chinese and Western cultures, especially in art and cuisine. As she said: “I am a dreamer, but also a dream-maker.”
I LIKE FOR YOU TO BE STILL
‘I Like For You To Be Still’ is a short film that according to Neruda’s poem to construct a moving image work – a film poem – about a girl who secretly loves another girl. It interprets a sense of the hazy affection of same-sex love to the audience. The work explores the use of montage to combine abstract words with lens language, in order to show that true love is regardless of age, regardless of race, regardless of gender, everyone has the right to choose their own happiness.
