Toby Collis is an aspiring photographer and screenwriter who has studied at both Plymouth University and Montana State University, USA. A passion for storytelling runs across his work in both mediums. Toby’s work is often influenced by a sense of place in urban environments and the narratives that surround them such as the subject of masculinity. He also has a love for capturing streetwear fashion and skater culture.

The word April comes from the Greek goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite, often symbolized by flowers and hearts. The colourful images, full of these motifs, infuse the contrasting mediums of photography and cinematography in the way that they also infuse the contrasting themes of spring fashion and masculinity. April is a project within the context of fashion photography, using the cinemagraph to add moving parts and bring life to the still images.
