Glenn Grindrod is a queer artist and designer whose work explores notions of self-creation, authenticity and identity. With an interest in subversion, surrealism and high fashion their work always aims to be experimental and to constantly push the boundaries of cultural and creative conversations, challenging preconceived notions of ‘art’ and ‘beauty’.
Pinocchio always longed to become human, and in a digital age humans now wish to become Pinocchio: it was with this idea in mind that Transplanted Bodies as created. Concept-driven
and multidisciplinary, this project deconstructs the mannequin and reimagines it as the last surviving remnant of human civilisation, desperately searching for a connection to it’s lost maker through the medium of the natural world.
